Parks: Elm Street Park has two small play areas, lots of shaded picnic tables and a half basketball court, Battery Lane Park has a playground, a tennis court, and a basketball court, and Capital Crescent Trail is a shared use off-road trail from Georgetown, D.C. to Silver Spring, MD suitable for walkers, joggers, bikers, and roller-bladers.

Airports: Dulles International Airport is located approximately 20 miles from the Bethesda/Rockville region. Baltimore Washington International Airport is just under an hour’s drive away. Reagan National Airport also services the region and is located less than 20 miles away.

Elementary Schools: Bethesda Elementary School is located in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland and serves grades PK-5 in the Montgomery County Public School District. Landon School is a private, nonsectarian, college preparatory school for boys in grades 3-12, with an enrollment of approximately 675 students. Sidwell Friends Academy is a Quaker private school located in Bethesda, Maryland and Washington, D.C., offering pre-kindergarten through secondary school. Our Lady of Lourdes School is another wonderful area school.

Middle Schools: Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, previously known as Stone Ridge Country Day School, is a pre-K through 12th grade, independent, Catholic school for girls located in Bethesda. Bethesda Middle School serves grades 6-8 in the Montgomery County Public School District. It is among the few public middle schools in Maryland to receive a distinguished “GreatSchools Rating” of 10 out of 10. Landon School, Thomas W Pyle Middle School, and Sidwell Friends Academy are a few of our other favorite middle schools in the Bethesda region.

High Schools: Bethesda Chevy Chase High-School is located in the heart of Bethesda and serves the communities of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington and Silver Spring in Montgomery County. Other great schools in the area include: Landon School, Georgetown Prep, Sidwell Friends Academy, Stone Ridge School, and Holton-Arms School.

Colleges/Universities: Montgomery College is a community college with campuses in Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park. American University is a leader among Washington DC universities in global education and is located less than five miles from the Bethesda region. University of Maryland is a public research university located in the city of College Park in Prince George's County, just outside Washington, D.C.
