Parks: Massapequa Preserve is great for hiking and fishing, along with Massapequa Community Park. Marjorie R. Post Community Park is located at the intersection of Unqua and Merrick roads. The 42-acres space features numerous playgrounds, multiple tennis and handball courts, a basketball court, swimming pools, hockey and roller hockey rinks, a beach volleyball court and even a bocce ball court.

Airports/Transportation: Long Island is conveniently located near several airports like John F. Kennedy International Airport, (approximately 20 miles away), Laguardia Airport (approximately 10 miles away) and Long Island MacArthur Airport, formerly known as Islip Airport, which is a public airport located on Long Island, in Ronkonkoma, Town of Islip, Suffolk County, New York. The Massapequa Train Station and Amityville Train Station make commuting around the Long Islan area easy and convenient.

Elementary Schools: Fairfield Elementary School is home to nearly 700 students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade and has been dedicated to excellence since 1925. Lockhart Elementary School is an integral part of the community where students are invited to discover, invent, experiment, and dream in our child-centered classrooms.

Middle Schools: Berner Middle School is an educational organization that serves over 1300 seventh and eighth grade students. Wantagh Middle School is focused on providing a rich learning experience for students in grades six through eight.

High Schools: Amityville Memorial High School was recognized as a National Breakthrough School by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and Met-Life. Massapequa High School - Main Campus is one of the top rated High schools in Nassau County. It is located in the beautiful community of Massapequa, the school is comprised of 2,000 sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Colleges/Universities: State University of New York, abbreviated “SUNY” is a system of public institutions of higher education in New York. Nassau Community College is a two-year college that is located in East Garden City, New York. Hofstra University is the largest private college on Long Island, New York, with schools in the Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business, Law, Communication, Education, Health and Human Services and Honors studies, as well as a School of Law and School of Medicine. Briarcliffe College - Bethpage, Adelphi University, and Island Drafting & Technical Institute are also located in the Long Island area.
